COLLE SANTA MUSTIOLA

INTERVIEW TO FABIO CENNI, WINEMAKER.

‘Colle S. Mustiola’, a place and a name forever linked to the territory.

‘POGGIO AI CHIARI’ is the first wine that testifies the marriage between our wine production and the territory in which it was born.

‘I Chiari’ are the waters that our vineyards overlook. These are the places that have inspired the name of our wine.

‘Poggio ai Chiari’ saw its first steps at the beginning of the 90’s. Wanting to enhance the peculiarity of the soil and of its climate, I decided to fully dedicate myself to the recuperation and enhancement of the old vineyards belonging to my family.  It has been for this reason that my first task was to recuperate the best’S.Giovese’and’Colorino’ vines, present in the old vineyards. After a long period of land evaluation, experiments and trials, new vineyards were planted in 1992 is the year in which my beloved wine begins in the bottle.  The new cellar, in a natural tufa grotto, has but added to the quality of the wine.

During the course of the years other wines were added to the ‘Poggio ai Chiari’ such as ‘VIGNA FLAVIA’, born from an accurate selection of 5 clones and refined in ‘botte grande’.  AIso the KERNOS, a fragrant and fresh rose.
