Cellar Piantate Lunghe Page Head

PIANTATE LUNGHE

Piantate Lunghe was born from the lucky encounter of Amedeo Giustini with two family friends, Roberto and Guido Mazzoni who unified the land with the Giustini winery.

The land is located in the promontory of Mount Conero, a territory famous for its wines which stands on the Adriatic Sea. The hills below descend towards the hinterland creating a landscape with a unique microclimate: here the sea breezes and the limestone soil allow the Montepulciano grape to express a set of flavors, colors and scents impossible to intercept in other places.

The relationship between the vines and the Conero area has its roots in history. The sub-mountain area was once colonized by the Dorians, who founded Ancona there. Just the Greek colonists, 1000 years before Christ, left traces of viticulture and winemaking in the area.

The same can be said for the Etruscans to whom the first technical notions of vine cultivation and oenological processing are attributed, which also spread in the Marche region where the Piceni population were installed. Plinio himself described a hundred varieties of vines grown in the Piceno area and mentioned, among others, “of the Pretorian wine produced in the Ancona area”. And, again, Apicio Marco Gavio, Roman character of culinary art, recalls an Anconetanum wine, red and rather full-bodied.

Our mission is to continue that tradition by giving life to the best Rosso Conero we are capable of.
