Tenuta Piano di Rustano is located in the high Terre Maceratesi, in a hilly area where the cold climate of the Apennines is partially mitigated by the proximity of the Adriatic Sea. The strong temperature variations between day and night, characteristic at an altitude of 400 m. s.l.m., affects the biological activity of the vine and consequently the quality of the wines produced.

The cellar is located on the ground floor of the Piano di Rustano palace, where the Lebboroni family lived for four generations. With its 350 square meters, the cellar is divided into a pressing room, a wine-making room, an aging room and a barrel room. The pressing room for the whole period of the year in which it is not used for its main purpose is intended for a small conference room, for exhibitions and cultural events.

The vineyards are composed of rows 1.65 m distant and it is not possible to enter with tractors. All processes are therefore carried out strictly by hand, from the collection of pruned branches to the copper and sulfur treatments, from the cutting of the grass to the harvest.

The winery produces only white wines according with tradition and terroir, but also aims to new possibility: becouse of the great structure of Verdicchio grapes and his own acidity, enhanced by the soil, now we are producing Classic Method, sweet wine and a particular wine called “Essentia” obtained by adding our honey in the fermentation process.
