CONTI SERTOLI SALIS
This cellar is the oldest cellar in Italy recognized by authority. In 1665, Conte (Count) Giovanni von Salis Zizers founded the cellar. The products from this cellar were designated to all European royal’s homes, branded as Leopoldo I d’Asburgo. Since 1665 the goal of the cellar is to produce the perfect wine to sell it to the elites.
The cellar is situated in the Alps, the harvest is completely by hand. It is hard and difficult work. Only the best grapes are selected to guarantee the best quality wine possible. The wine is made with Nebbiolo grapes, the same grapes to produce Barolo, however the results is very different. The best product is “Sforzato di Valtellina”, it is made with withered grapes, a similar process of Amarone. The Amarone is made on hill and flat land, while Sforzato made in the mountain the flavour is more acid and sharp. It is a very suitable wine for collecting and age in private cellar.
Wine Canua is rank as top 1% of the best wine in the world by Vivino. The cellar produce a total of 7 different types of wine.
