PALTRINIERI

Paltrinieri was born in 1926.  This cellar is a traditional Italian family company, in fact, it is managed by the third generation.  The cellar is located in a very fertile land in between two rivers. The land is rich with nutriment and the vines do not require, even during summer, irrigation.

Paltrinieri has 15 hectares of vines, the average production is 120,000 bottles per year.  The grapes are principally “Salamino” and “Lambrusco di Sorbara” that are autochthone, indigenous, grapes.  It is necessary to grow both vines because “Lambrusco di Sorbara” flowers are only female and require “Salamino” flower which are male to fertilize.

This cellar is the first cellar in Sorbara to produce “Lambrusco di Sorbara” in purity years after Sorbara city first created the discipline.  This cellars also produce “Aceto Balsamico di Modena” , a small production but of very high quality vinegar which has to be is aged for 45 years. In total the family produce 8 different types of wine, Aceto Balsamico 25 years and 45 years, and some spirits product.
