TENUTA TERRAVIVA

Our history starts in the end of the seventies.  This is when Gabriele Marano buys a part of the estate and expanded up to 25 hectares, all of which are are organic since 1999.

Terraviva lies on the pristine hills of Tortoreto, in the province of Teramo, where we create wines that are able to represent the territory.  Our vineyards are affected to a particular climate and continuous winds blowing in from the Adriatic sea to our Gran Sasso mountains.  Minerals and its savoury taste are the peculiarity of our wines that come from sandy and clayey soils.

In 2006, we started to vinify our grapes.  Terraviva is a young farm because we only started bottling since 2006.  The range of products, vinified exclusively with organic grapes from our own vineyards, has extended and we added Pecorino, Passerina and Sangiovese to our canons Trebbiano and Montepulciano.  The harvest is made by hand in small boxes, without breaking the bunches.

Our grapes do not undergo any chemical or weeding treatment, and no additives, sugar or enzymes are added.  Fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts.  Very basic processing of the soil, grapes and wine, and no chemical preservatives are used or adulterations are made by men.

Tenuta Terraviva is characterized by a strong family.  The estate is supported by a team of young people.  They are full of enthusiasm and passion recognizing the importance of ensuring high level of excellence in the vineyard and in the cellar, and awareness of the environment.
